Lorand has a degree and background in mechanical engineering, and is in charge of pile installation and equipment maintenance and design and manufacturing. With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing equipment, Lorand is overseeing the pile installation, manufacturing process at BC Helical Piles. Lorand has experience (and works and supervises) pile installation, crews, installation equipment maintenance and repairs and sourcing of parts.
Lorand oversees several installation crews, and inspects and is involved in every single project and pile installation.
Lorand is versed in testing of various components and pile groups, and oversees helical pile testing, rigging and test set-up and monitoring, including engineering reports for tests in accordance with:
- ASTM D1143-07 (Standard Test Methods for Deep Foundation Under Static Axial Compressive Load)
- ASTM D3689 (Federal Highway Administration / Deep Foundation Institute, American Drilled Shaft Contractors)
- Load test interpretation methods (2007 NYC Building code, Modified Davisson ICC-ES 2007, FHWA 1996, DeBeer, Fuller-Hoy, Hansen 90%, Chin-Konder Decourt, Hansen 80%)

Iraj has a degree in Civil Engineering, and oversees the day to day operations at BC Helical Piles; Iraj oversees the scheduling and commitment to the clients, meeting deadlines, project progress and successful completion. He also oversees the process of producing drawings, structural design and permit application progress (for various projects).
Iraj is also the active manager of the company, and together with Lorand and Val, ensures that we do what we promised by the date promised for the price promised. Whoever dealt or worked or had the opportunity to meet with Iraj, would certify to this. Iraj is, beyond a very active and energetic field manager, an example of utmost dedication to work and clients. Left by himself, Iraj would work 24 hours a day.

Val comes from a civil engineering and structural background, and oversees the structural design and the project implementation. Val assists Iraj and Lorand with the day-to day operations, quotes and projects. Val and Iraj oversee the design (sizing) of the BC Helical Piles to meet the required loads (specified by structural engineers or architects).
Val and Iraj are active in the design and research and advancement of helical piles, and offer support to other engineers, architects and contractors with respect to helical pile uses, limitations, load carrying capacity and various possible uses.
Val is an avid researcher and reader, often attending courses and seminars, related to helical piles and their uses. Val is continuously searching for better and more efficient solutions, and his main role at BC Helical Piles is to visit and inspect projects, review quality and come up with the most efficient design and solutions for any challenge.

Kit is our senior estimator, and is absolutely invaluable with his huge experience in construction and project management. Kit has over 35 years of construction management experience, and has built high-rises and heavy infrastructure projects in his previous assignments. Kit has been with us and part of our work family for over 10 years. Regardless of Val and Iraj’s commitment to “do what we promise”...the truth is that Kit is the one who enables us to keep our promise. Without Kit, we would not be able to operate so smooth.
We have to credit Kit for also being the one to stand up and clarify things and keep in check Val and Iraj eagerness to help and undertake all projects. Kit filters all of our commitments and prices, and ensures that they are achievable, and will not allow us to promise something that he thinks we cannot deliver.

Irina is the senior accountant, and the reason we have only humble furniture, no trace of even the slightest amount of luxury, drive a fleet of basic trucks and have no VISA cards from the company. She is the reason why the principals are only allowed to drive the trucks which are not fit for production. (The site guys get the newer trucks, since they are more valuable, in her opinion; the management, which are a “burden” for the company, in her view, can only use the hand-me-downs from the production). You want something? “You pay for it yourself...is her answer and approach”
She is also the reason why we do not owe anything in taxes, everything is paid to date and there are no company debts to speak of. Although not a selling point, we have excellent standing with CRA.
